In 1965, Japanese American graduate student Todd Endo participated in the Selma to Montgomery marches led by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. In the video with this article from last year, he remembers his participation in this civil rights milestone. Endo recalls, “I decided to join a group that was heading to Selma, and surely the reason was that a person I knew had chosen to go to Selma to march for voting rights, and had died for that decision and cause.”
